iShield
How it works

What actually happens, from counter to collection.

No jargon. Here is the whole lifecycle of a financed handset under iShield.

At the counter

Enrol during phone setup

On a new or freshly reset handset, the customer scans your QR at the Android setup screen. The iShield agent installs as Device Owner — the highest level of control Android grants an app — and binds Factory Reset Protection before the phone leaves your shop. It takes a couple of minutes and needs no cable or computer.

Works on any Android 9 or newer handset

No PC, no ADB, no root

Customer keeps normal use of the phone

Day to day

The phone behaves like any other phone

While payments are on schedule, nothing changes for the customer. The agent runs quietly, reports its own health, and watches for interference — developer options being switched on, uninstall attempts, clock manipulation. You see the EMI schedule and the device state side by side in your dashboard.

No access to photos, messages or contacts

Automatic payment reminders

Per-device health and tamper history

When a payment is missed

Restrict, then lock — and release instantly

Start with a soft restriction so the customer sees a warning but keeps their phone. If the account stays overdue, lock it. The lock screen shows what is owed and a UPI link to pay. The moment payment lands, you release the device and it returns to normal.

Emergency calling always available

Locks over SMS when there is no data

Instant unlock on payment

If someone tries to escape

A reset does not end the story

Wiping the phone from recovery mode removes the agent — this is true of every locking product. What Factory Reset Protection changes is what happens next: setup demands accounts you control, so the handset cannot be handed on or resold. When it reconnects, it recognises itself by hardware identity and restores its previous state.

Reset protection bound at enrolment

Identity survives an app-data wipe

Automatic re-enrolment on reconnect
